Steven
Courtney- acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmoica, lead
vocals
Steven
Courtney is a performing songwriter who has experienced
top notch success. Since 1991, Steven has performed
over 4,500 concerts, recorded 26 full-length albums,
received 7 Children's Music Web Awards, produced
three concert-length performance videos and an award
winning Children's TV series.
Mike
McElravy- dobro, acoustic guitar, vocals
There
is no doubt that Mike McElravy is an incredible
musician. Simply put he is musically adventurous.
On one hand he lends the Band of Friends his rocking
acoustic guitar riffs big enough to fill an arena.
On the other hand, he colors the music of Steven
Courtney with rich dobro textures and a vibrant
steel guitar sound.
Frank
Portaro- upright bass, mandoiln, vocals
Frank
Portaro is the driving force behind the percussive
rhythmic energy of the Band of Friends. Switch hitting
between the upright bass and the occasional mandolin
part, Frank delivers a wonderful mix of thumping
bass lines and sweet mandolin parts blended with
his own signature sound.
Alden
Hoke- banjo, fiddle, melodica, vocals
The
youngest member of the band is also one of the most
diverse players. Meet, Alden Hoke. Alden lives and
breathes music. In the Band of Friends he draws
on celtic influence to create memorable fiddle parts
for Steven's songs. Lean in and check out his unique
banjo stylings too. Oh yeah, he's also tearing it
up on the melodica with cajun tendencies.
Doug
Walton- acoustic guitar, 6 sting banjo and mandolin,
vocals
As
if Mike McElravy wasn't enough! Ok fine. Who's that
other guy playing that acoustic guitar like it's
on fire? Oh yeah... it's Doug Walton. Carrying most
of the rhythm guitar weight, while never one to
shy away from playing a bit of Chuck Berry, Doug
gives the Band of Friends that extra seal of musical
perfection with his diversity on 6 string banjo
and the mandolin.
