KINGSFOIL - September 2010
http://www.myspace.com/kingsfoil

A Pennsylvania based indie pop- rock quartet with a strong focus on songwriting, arrangements, and energetic live performances.

Kingsfoil was originally formed as an acoustic duo. Songwriting by Jordan Davis and Tristan Martin has matured over the years through their three independent releases (Thoughts on the Floor ’02, Blueprints ’04, and The Almond Tree EP ’05). Following the strong release of the Almond Tree EP, Joe Cipollini was added on drums, and in 2007 Tim Warren finalized the group on bass. With this solid line-up, Kingfoil recorded the five song “Bear in the Attic” release in 2007.

Since releasing “Bear in the Attic” (which has received college and terrestrial radio airplay), Kingsfoil has enjoyed success in many areas and on the live performance front has opened for bands from “The Ting Tings” to “We the Kings” to “Matt Kearny” as well as being selected by concert promoter LiveNation to open for Creed in 2009.

Kingsfoil was featured as one of the top 8 bands to watch by MMC 2009. Video features include Philly's NBC Channel 10 (2 appearances - Dig Philly and Hidden Tracks) as well as playing live on Philly’s 104.5 and NYC's Fearless Music. Most recently their new single “give it up now” was WXPN’s (Philadelphia and central PA) “pick of the day” and was featured in their “all about the music” blog. Kingsfoil’s latest album “on our own together” was featured on the MySpace music homepage and their new music video for “give it up now” will be featured on the MySpace music video homepage at the end of August.

Kingsfoil has since released the single “Trees” in 2009 as a digital only release as well as their new full length album, “On Our Own Together” which was released in June 2010.

PRESS QUOTES AND REVIEWS

“…this is the kind of music that moves you. It is catchy, but creative. It is raw, but profound. It’s progressive, but accessible. Every single song will leave you humming its melodies and reflecting on its themes.” 5 out of 5 stars
-Rawkzilla blog and magazine -Review Written By: Jamin Cousins

“…The album features catchy tracks that are light-hearted and radio-friendly, some addressing young romance with a post-infatuation,”so-over-this” attitude, while others seize youthful folly with reckless abandon. Songs like “Savannah” and “Lion’s Den” are more seasoned, handling relationships and life’s hard knocks with genuine respect and consideration…”
-Red Thought Media Music Blog

…”‘On Our Own Together’ finds the band gaining confidence, identity, and putting down a record full of memorable and undeniably catchy songs”… 4 out of 5 stars
-The Album Project -Review written by: Kate Wieking

…”Together- Kingsfoil creates flowing melodies backed by strong songwriting and an energetic blast much like artists Coldplay, Damien Rice”…
-WXPN’s all about the music blog -written by: plocal

…”Kingsfoil seems to be the anthem for a generation of intensely talented kids who see and experience and love and lose. They connect with their fans on multiple levels, by dispelling their deepest fears, letting them know they belong, and reminding them that they are never alone. The best part is that at such a young age, they’ve taken on this burden”…
-Fine Living Lancaster Magazine -written by Nicole Patterson

“…Vulnerable moments hint at the fray but Davis’ diverse melodic allusions (Imogen Heap, Rhett Miller) leave comparisons completely unnecessary. “on our own together” is a near- perfect smart pop record…” 4 and half out of 5 stars
-Fly Magazine -Review written by Dugan Nash

“Kingsfoil’s polished, sensitive piano-driven pop/rock might occasionally take cues from Coldplay and Keane. . . but they more often display a tougher exterior and a keen pop songwriting sensibility. . .”
-Big Takeover Magazine -Mark Suppanz, Reviewer

“If The Fray and Kings of Leon had a baby, you would get Kingsfoil...”
