J.D. Sage - December 2010

In a delivery room in Havre De Grace Hospital in 1968, the key of "G" had a new sound to it, and would be forever changed the day my friend and colleague J. D. Sage was born.

You may think this man comes from hills of Tennessee or Kentucky because of his distinct Appalachian draw and kindness in his tone....but he grew up most of his childhood years in Darlington, Maryland.

He was 16 when his Mother bought him his first guitar..the rest is a song all of its own. It jumps fret with the placement of the capo but you can be sure to get a G, C or a D somewhere in there...but the song has its own melody and J.D. Sage's life and the lives of others who he knows wrote this song.

J.D.'s song lead him to Nashville to write songs for other musicians with a publishing contract for many years.

Disenchanted with the Nashville publishing machine, in 1999 J.D. formed his own band, The Guilty Plezures, including guitarist Michael Kelsh (Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle) and bassist Jack Sundred (Poco).

A CD was produced, titled “Guilty in a Sense”, by Bill Halverson (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Neil Young) recorded at the Sound Emporium studio (Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley) resulting in a successful tour of the mid-west and mid-Atlantic regions.

After a 5 year break J.D. has returned with new songs, a new band, and a new CD ,"I Know Where I Am". Blending a mix of Southern Rock, Hard Country, & Bluegrass with well written originals during live performances, J.D. and his band of veteran local musicians provide a professional experience for all involved and an ever changing, good time show for his fans.
