Indian Summer Jars - February 2011
http://www.myspace.com/indiansummerjars

Formed in 2006, Sarah Beth and Sarah King of Indian Summer Jars have become known for making a whole lot of sound come out of just two people.

Their songs are diverse and driving, with harmonies that will melt your heart. They are driven by dynamic and percussive guitar rythms, with lyrics of unusual originality and mermorably distinct melodies to seal the deal. Their catalog of songs is incredible for such a ripe young band, over 250 titles to name. The yin and yang of this duo is what has made them work so well together and continue to grow as the time moves forward. With Sarah Beth's smokey alto vibe coupled with Sarah King's flexible and soultry soprano/alto variations, the vocals are sure to strike a chord with any listening ear. But the goodness just doesn't stop there. Start to peel away the rind of the song content and you'll find way more than meets the wayfaring listeners ear. The songs each are strong entities of themselves, but all tie together a book that continues to be written everyday, one with stories of great explorers, of wild whiskey bars, of falling in and out of love and lust and the dangers of deserts in biblical times. It's all about release and forward motion, about accepting faults in ourselves and eachother, about redefining ourselves as we redefine eachother.

Sarah Beth and Sarah King became acquainted at The Appalachian Brewing Company Open Mic Night in Harrisburg, PA. Both women were solo performers at the time, but enjoyed one another's music so much that they began sharing gigs. After a while, it made sense for the two to collaborate thus creating Indian Summer Jars.

Their greatest step forward this passed year has been signing onto Indie Label Radio Vibe Records to record their second full length album, "Catalyst", to be released spring of 2011.

The band name, Indian Summer Jars, is inspired by the warmth and impulsivity that an unexpected turn in the weather can bring. Indian Summer Jars (Sarah Beth & Sarah King) feel that during the Indian Summer people are more likely to be spontaneous venturing outside of their comfort zone, breaking from routine, and opening themselves up to experiences that will shape and change their lives forever. The “Jars” part of their name is indicative of preserving memorable moments & experiences to share with others and to inspire them to create their own. As a band, Indian Summer Jars sound combines earthy, soulful harmonies and strong guitar work - reminiscent of the full, fiery sound of the Indigo Girls.
